A Tale of Two Faces

We all know that Conservapedia in general, and Andrew Schlafly in particular, foams at the mouth at the mere mention of the word "Obama" and will go to any lengths to run him down. These guys don't just stop at the "allegedly born in Hawaii" crap; for some time they also reported that Obama's birth name was Barry Soetoro. At least now it's been "upgraded" to "aka Barry Soetoro."

Likewise, no source is too bad, when it comes to digging the dirt on the guy who used to boss Andy around at the Harvard Law Review - something which clearly riled Andy's Aryan sensibilities. World Nut Daily, 2-bit blogs,  and even Pravda (yes, THAT Pravda!) have been roped in to assist with the ongoing smear campaign.

Which brings me to today's topic.

Now, I can't say I 100% agree with the whole WikiLeaks thing. Firstly, they're about as much fun to read as getting to second base with your cousin, Fred, is. Secondly, how far does the whole "right to know" thing go anyway?

That said, calling Assange a "wanted fugitive rapist" is a no-no. Even if you do add in the word "alleged" later on. Of course, it's justified in Conservapedia's eyes because "He's A Dirty Foreigner Doing Something Bad To America And Thus Must Be Denigrated At Every Opportunity," thus we can say all kinds of shit about him.

Until this "wanted fugitive rapist" says something bad about Obama.

Suddenly, it's all light, happiness and fluffy bunnies as this person (Rapist? What, that? No, ha ha ha - it was just a communication problem) calls for Obama to resign.

Now, that begs the question. Is an alleged "wanted fugitive rapist" suddenly a reliable source on CP, or were CP having a little jest by referring to Assange as a "wanted fugitive rapist"? Who knows, maybe being an alleged rapist is ok with them. After all, Phyllis Schlafly promotes rape and Andy suckled at her teat for long enough.

  2. What's /really/ sad is that we won't get to watch them having to defend their U-turn. "We have always been at war with Eurasia!"
