Free Speech 1, Conservapeda 0

Good news - seems that despite the best efforts of John Patti (no doubt guided by the slimy hand of Terry Koeckritz) this blog is still alive and kicking. So much for that little storm in a teacup. Many thanks to everybody for your support, it's greatly appreciated on this side, and now I'm more determined than ever to keep on "digging the dirt on the insanity that is Conservapedia" for my loyal readers. Although this time round there may be fewer personal remarks. Maybe.

The delicious irony behind all of this, is that were we to try and have little Johnny boy's Twitter account - with all it's hateful drivel, which appears to be written by somebody who's third language is English, and not by somebody who is responsible for maintaining a "trustworthy encyclopaedia" - then he, and his conservative cronies would be screeching "censorship" like a group of fishwives on helium. Then again, given that Andrew Schlafly doesn't appear to know the meaning of the word - or most other multi-syllable words for that matter - can we blame them?

In fact, seeing as he wants to escalate matters, maybe I should have a go at taking his Twitter account down. After all, it's like that saying goes, "Payback's a bitch." Then again, I honestly can't be bothered, plus he's doing such a good jobs of portraying himself as a typical teabagger - paranoid and racist.

  2. Very true. After all, who'd want to stoop to their level anyway?

Congratulations! Of course, now you have to actually write some posts ;)

  4. lol! True. Actually this whole unsavoury episode has spurred me to write more often - it seems as if I'm having the desired effect. That said, busy compiling entries on "Rob and TK go to Wikipedia" as well as Andy's childish gloating over the election and the fall out after the result.

  5. As a non-Yank I have the advantage of being able to sit back and watch US politics with a neutral - albeit jaundiced eye. That said, the levels of bile, hate, paranoia, etc are off the scale - far more than ordinary party politics would allow for. Maybe a certain sector of the US wasn't ready to have a black president yet.

  6. You do have to wonder what the flow on effects to the rest of the world would be if the teabaggers' fantasy of succession came true. All US troops would immediately be called home to fight a war and I would image in the army would have to shoot a fair number of its own as deserters. The cost of mounting a war against itself would be huge and probably cripple half of the world's economy, especially if the US mounts a blockade against itself again.
