Terry Hurlbut & DiggPatriots

I've already mentioned that Terry Hurlbut, aka Conservapedia sysop TerryH, aka username Temlakos, was one of those fine, upstanding citizens involved with the DiggPatriots. You know, those model, moral Americans who saw it as their divine duty to censor as many Digg article comments as possible, that they didn't like. Or that didn't conform to their twisted worldview. They did this by using multiple accounts to vote down articles they didn't like, and even have progressive/liberal contributors banned.

Now, Terry has been notably silent about his involvement, especially once it was brought up in the comments following another of his crackpot articles. Still, no doubt behind the scenes, they're still high-fiving each other and probably have the balls to grumble about being outed.

However, don't harbour any thoughts about this being a noble cause he was fighting for. In fact, given the welcoming message from one of the DiggPatriots, I think they knew full well that what they were engaged in was low-down, dirty censorship.

To all of our new group members: We are really happy you have joined us at DiggPatriots!

Please remember this is a group that we are trying to keep below the radar. Please do not disclose this group’s existence to anyone outside the group on Digg or elsewhere. The longer we can keep this group on the down low, the better. I know you probably aready knew that, but I wanted to make sure we are all on the same page as far as the keeping this group from being exposed to the public.

  1. It should be noted that the Digg "Patriots" did not just target comments, but censored thousands of articles that they disagreed with.
